ABOUT PORT DAY INSIDER
Local experience.
Traveler-first advice.
Port Day Insider provides practical port-day guides for cruise passengers, with realistic timing, transport choices and clear return-to-ship planning.
Why we built it
Cruise passengers have limited hours ashore, while online advice often ignores terminal exits, traffic, walking time and the ship’s real return deadline. Port Day Insider exists to explain the parts of a port day that determine whether it feels easy or rushed.
We begin with Kuşadası, Istanbul and Bodrum — ports our local team serves — and will expand with useful guides for cruise destinations around the world.
How our advice is made
Our guides are reviewed regularly. Operational transport and port facts are checked against official sources where possible, while practical planning advice is clearly separated from confirmed information. We update guidance when terminals, routes, tickets or local conditions change.
- Ship schedules come before oversized itineraries.
- Travel and walking time are part of the experience.
- Local recommendations should be clear about commercial relationships.
Official sources we check
Depending on the guide, our review starts with the relevant port, public-transport operator or official museum source. Travelers should recheck time-sensitive details shortly before arrival.
Our relationship with Tour Altınkum
Port Day Insider is a practical information guide created by the team behind Tour Altınkum, a Türkiye-based tour operator serving cruise travelers. Tour Altınkum provides local shore-excursion services and operational experience; Port Day Insider is the independent planning and education side of that work.
When a page links to a Tour Altınkum service, we say so clearly. You can use the free guide whether or not you book a tour.
Our promise
We aim to publish information that helps you make a better decision: what fits, what does not, where time disappears and when a simpler plan is the smarter plan.
